Stewarding

Our exhibitions rely on the support of our members and require a significant number of volunteer stewards.

If you are exhibiting, you are expected to volunteer for a stewarding slot, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

However, please do not volunteer if you feel that stewarding could put your health at risk.

The stewarding form can be completed separately from the exhibition Entry Form. We recommend completing it as early as possible, as slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sales & Commission

Sales will be handled by the stewards and committee members on duty.

Guildford Art Society charges 25% commission on all sales. There is no VAT on sales. This commission includes applicable iZettle payment fees.

Buyers may take purchased artwork away immediately.

If one of your displayed works sells and you registered a reserve artwork on your submission form, you may bring the reserve piece to fill the available space.

Please do not bring replacement artwork that was not included on your original submission form. It will not have a stock number or GAS label and therefore cannot be properly recorded.

Insurance & Copyright

Guildford Art Society will take great care when handling members’ work. However, all artwork is submitted and exhibited at the artist’s own risk.

Artists are responsible for arranging their own insurance against loss or damage.

All artwork offered for exhibition or sale must be the artist’s own original work.

Copying another artist’s work, including simply changing its colour, background or orientation, does not make it an original work and may constitute a breach of copyright.

Please ensure that you have the right to exhibit and sell everything you submit.

Artwork That Cannot Be Exhibited

The committee will make every effort to display all submitted work.

However, artwork that has not been prepared, labelled or presented according to these guidelines may not be accepted for exhibition.

If this happens, the artist will be contacted and asked to collect the work. The submission fee will be refunded.
