GAS Pipeline - August 2022

Welcome to the August issue of our GAS Pipeline. This month we have our Summer Exhibition at Shalford Village Hall (20th to 29th August). Calling papers have been sent and are also downloadable from the website. Submissions close on Friday 12th August.

This is a new venture for GAS, so let's make it a success

Congratulations once again to Deborah Kreczmer for having two works selected for the first live exhibition with the Society of Women Artists.

About Deborah's work - "my inspiration to paint comes from immediate surroundings or travels. My paintings are strongly influenced by colour and the use of mixed media. Landscape, building, seascape , still life or semi abstract with a contemporary twist. I have exhibited at Patchings Gallery, Society of Woman Artists, Appart , SAOS and featured in The Artist , Leisure Painter magazines and Surrey magazines. I work from my studio, in addition to running small bespoke workshops and commissions and go every year to Cornwall painting with a group of artist friends. I was delighted when my art work was accepted for the second time by SWA. The first painting is call Easter Egg Hunt inspired when my niece and nephew visited , and the second is called Summer Garden."

Biddles of Guildford are expanding into Art Materials! 10% Discount for GAS Members Biddles have been in Guildford since 1885, starting out as a printers and developing into the Stationery shop you see now. In 2020 the shop was saved from closure by the former managers, now the current owners Neal and David. Looking to expand the range, Art products, became the preferred option. they have introduced Winsor Newton paints, a range of brushes, pads and canvases but can order most professional paints (in singles if required). Their range will adapt, with the help of customers both old and new. If the demand is there they will introduce a range professional paints. As an introduction to the Guildford Art Society members, we would like to offer you 10% discount off the cost of your stationery and art materials.
