GAS Monthly Challenge - Our Challenge for May was Air, and we followed up April's 24 excellent entries with 28 excellent entries this time. Can we beat that in June? Of course we can! We anonymised all the entries and Ingrid put them on Instagram, and the twelve entries with the most Instagram 'likes' were shortlisted and submitted (still anonymised) to a panel of ten which included our Chairman Sinclair, and our President Jane Allison - many thanks to all ten. The clear winner chosen by the panel was once again the one which also got most Instagram likes, and that was this wonderful painting by - Christopher Webb!

The runner-up entry was by Marylin McNie, with Liz Seward close behind. Congratulations to Christopher and all who entered.

All 28 entries can be seen on the GAS Instagram page and all the leading paintings will appear on the GAS website soon.

The Challenge for June is ....... Home! This gives lots of scope - can be your home or an element of it, or your home town, or where your heart is, or ........ come on now - you know what to do - stretch the theme as far as you like - as long as the, in any medium or visual art form. Just a gentle word to Challenge entrants promoting their work on Instagram - it's natural to want to refer your work to your friends, and of course GAS is very glad to have as many followers looking at our Challenge entries as possible. Do please remember if you do so however, to ask your friends to look at all the entries and to also put a like against any other entries that catch their eye - that way we stay within the spirit of Challenge - which is that it's a fun competition and the best entry should win. Phew! - lecture over - on with the fun!

The winner will receive a voucher prize and be featured in the July issue of Pipeline and on the GAS website. If you'd like to enter just email your image (jpeg file) to Ingrid at gasartexhibitions@yahoo.com - by the 20th of June.
