Our 2022 programme is being reviewed, and we'd like St Catherine's to be the venue for our Demos but it's possible that some of the demos may need to be online. More details nearer the time. If any of our demos are indeed online the artists will broadcast in their chosen format, and Sally or Jean will email details in advance on how to join. Demos will start at 2.30 and finish at around 4.30, and we may be able to provide a recording of some of them for a limited time after the demo. You can see more of Elisabeth's beautiful work on the GAS website Members Exhibiting This Month The GAS Committee will be exhibiting at Guildford Cathedral from 11th October to 8th November. The exhibition is to recognise the significant contribution of the Committee to the smooth running and well-being of the Society, and we'd be delighted to welcome new helpers who wish to offer their time and skills for the benefit of members - and of course become eligible for future Committee exhibitions. We hope you will find time to visit this beautiful Cathedral GAS Monthly Challenge - Our Challenge for September was ..... Holidays, and you submitted 18 excellent entries - short on volume but very long on quality. As before, the entries were anonymised and put on Instagram by Ingrid, and the ten entries with the most Instagram 'likes' were then submitted (still anonymised) to a star-studded panel of ten which included our Chairman Sinclair, and our President Jane Allison - many thanks to all the panelists, as always. For the first time ever we had a tie - between Roger Dellar and Noel Kendall - well done to you both - Roger's work first below, followed by Noel's We also had a very convincing runner-up (to the joint winners) - this wonderful painting by Sandra Tingle. These three paintings scooped up 7 first places (from a possible ten), 8 second places, and 7 third places, so they really did dominate the panelist votes. All 18 entries can be seen on the GAS Instagram account, all the leading paintings will appear on the GAS website very soon, and the winners will receive voucher prizes. The Challenge for October is ....... MAJESTY. Now that doesn't mean Her Majesty - though it could if that's what you want to put forward - but any scene, (or person, or animal) majestic. Stretch the theme as far as you like - in any medium or visual art form. If you'd like to enter just email your image (.jpeg or .jpg file) to Cecilia at gasmonthlychallenge@gmail.com - by the 20th of October, and please make sure you give her your full name in your email. And as before - - Just one entry per person - A .jpeg or .jpg file - not a link to your website - If you ask your friends to look at your entry ask them to put a like against ALL the entries they like - Be aware of Copyright. For info just click on the Gallery tab on the GAS website and you'll find guidance and useful links. Please don't therefore enter a work which is a close copy of another artist's work - even if you did it yourself. And Finally - From You To Us! If you'd like to make a comment or suggestion please send us an email ds4GasPipeline@gmail.com - we'd be glad to hear from you! Take Care - and See You Next Month!
